Tasked with creating a sales page and complementary email copy for a campaign with Paramount Pictures, I put my direct response copywriter hat on and got to work.

I did a little research and plunged headfirst into a world where the hypermasculine ideals of Greek mythology and professional wrestling converge!

The direct response aspect?

The primary call to action was for recipients to sign up and start tracking their workouts. An additional aim was for them to share their progress on social media.

Results:
Much to the disappointment of my inner teenager I didn’t get to meet The Rock, but at least the project flourished. Thousands of members joined a dedicated group for the project and almost 100,000 unique workouts were tracked.

As well as being shared over 4,000 times on Facebook and tweeted hundreds of times, #TeamHercules was also picked up by media outlets like E! Online and Muscle & Fitness.

‘You’ve smelled what The Rock’s cookin’, but can you lift what the demigod’s liftin’?’ the campaign asked. I think we got our answer. Now, to wrap up this page before I make a joke about being a direct response copywriter who’s as solid as a rock…
